Bringing FON to Finland

I've gladly accepted an invitation from Martin Varsavsky to be leading fonero in Finland and advisor to FON. As you may have heard, FON is a global community of people who share wifi freely with each other. FON is a private company belonging to its employees, Skype, Google, Sequoia Capital, Index Ventures and the fonero leaders in each country and the for profit element of FON comes from users who are not wifi donors. FON shares those with fixed and eventually mobile operators who will partner with us.

I'm excited by the opportunity to work together with Martin's extraordinary team including Ejovi Nuwere, Joichi Ito, Esther Dyson and Antoin Lachtain. And I look forward to brining FON to Finland and turning Helsinki and other cities into shared wifi areas.

Disclosure: I am and will continue to be a full time employee of Nokia, not of FON. My role as a lead fonero is similar to an advisory board position.

Are you still playing the bass regularly?

Do you have any plans to promote FON for Finnish ISPs? Currently it is very limited amount of BB people who can share FON. Here you can find the friendly ISPs https://open.sparknet.fi/index.php?page=faq

Hi!
Where can I get info on current situation with FON in Finland, Helsinki area?
